(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – The Ohio Traffic Safety Council (OTSC) will meet in-person and virtually on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. During the meeting, attendees will hear from the featured speaker, Dr. James Augustine, M.D., an emergency physician and clinical professor at Wright State University about the role of trauma response in preventing traffic deaths. The newly formed occupant protection subcommittee will provide their first update to the Council. The meeting will also include updates from the impaired driving, youthful driving, and distracted driving subcommittees.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine established the Council in September 2020. The Council is led by the Ohio Department of Public Safety and includes representatives from federal, state, county and local agencies along with traffic safety partners and advocates who are all dedicated to making Ohio’s roadways safer.
